Neil Andersson
Neil Andersson, MD PhD, is professor of family medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and scientific director of CIET. A renowned epidemiologist in the fields of humanitarian assistance, family violence and participatory research, he developed the breakthrough approach to community-led RCTs and the widely used mixed method social audit to increase accountability in health services. His current research is in primary prevention of family violence, dengue and HIV infection. Dr. Andersson now leads an international distance education program using group-based active learning for primary health care teams.

Jorge Arosteguí
Jorge Arosteguí, MPH is a physician and epidemiologist with 14 years experience in the Nicaraguan health services and 30 years as Director of CIET in Nicaragua, leading a local research team focused on evidence-based planning. His main interest has been the development of institutional and community research capacities for participatory design and evaluation of interventions that build the community voice into public decision-making.
Eva Harris
Eva Harris is a professor in the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley where she developed a multidisciplinary approach for studying the virology, pathogenesis, and epidemiology of dengue fever, and the founder and president of the Sustainable Sciences Institute. Her fieldwork focuses on molecular and epidemiological field studies of dengue in endemic Latin American countries, particularly in Nicaragua. In 1998 she founded the Sustainable Sciences Institute, a San Francisco-based international nonprofit organization that works to improve public health in developing countries, by building local capacity for scientific research on infectious diseases.
